Andrea Radrizzani confirms offers have been made to buy Leeds United

first_img Hull defender MacDonald given all-clear after battle with bowel cancer EFL result stalemate goalless Latest Championship news Offers have been made to buy Leeds United from ‘many parties’, according to Whites chairman Andrea Radrizzani.Radrizzani, the Italian, has owned a majority share in the Elland Road club since he bought a 100 per cent stake from Massimo Cellino in May 2017. Berahino hits back at b******t Johnson criticism – ‘I was in a dark place at Stoke’ Leeds are flying high under Marcelo Bielsa, who was appointed manager over the summer 2 The Italian remains committed to his plan, confirming on Wednesday that he has already rejected approach from various parties to take control of Leeds.Speaking at the Leaders Week conference in London, Radrizzani said: “When I acquired the club I was doing it by three different elements.“First of all passion for football. It’s very important. If you invest in a football club you need to love the sport.“Second was the challenge. I’ve always been attracted in my life by something difficult and this is quite difficult because it’s competing for the dream to be in the Premier League, the best football championship in the world. “The third was the appreciation of the asset.“I’ve been approached by many parties in the last few months. I see already the value is probably more than double than what I invested but the upside potentially is really high because in my opinion this is one of the top, probably, eight brands in UK.” 2center_img Bannan penalty helps Sheffield Wednesday strengthen grip on play-off place REPLY Strugglers Wigan hold Blackburn to goalless draw in Championship Radrizzani is into his second full season as Leeds owner Earlier this year, Radrizzani sold around 12 per cent of the club to 49ers Enterprises, an investment entity linked with NFL side the San Francisco 49ers.After a disappointing 13th-placed finish last season Radrizzani has made a big push for promotion this campaign by completing the unexpected hiring of Marcelo Bielsa. The Whites sit third in the Championship after 12 matches, and there is a real belief this is the year the could finally end their top flight hiatus.Radrizzani’s investment in the club has got them to this position, and upon his arrival at Elland Road he made it clear he has a five-year plan after which time he would leave, if Leeds had not made it out the Championship. Work Begins on Rome Gully

first_imgRepair work has started on sections of the Rome Gully, which is adjacent to communities along the Lyndhurst Road/Rousseau Road corridor, in Kingston, in an effort to ensure the safety of residents and motorists in the area. The work, which commenced on October 31, include: cleaning of the gully; repacking, and extensive repair of existing damage. The gully suffered significant erosion prior to, and consequent on the passage of Hurricane Sandy on October 24, which unleashed torrential rains which caused heavy flooding in the channel. Speaking to journalists on November 1, following a tour of the area, Minister of State in the Ministry of Transport, Works and Housing, Richard Azan, informed that the work forms part of emergency repairs in order to maintain the structure. “There is a house that is in danger right now and we are trying to make sure that we save that house (along with several others). Additionally, the invert under the bridge is also damaged,” he said. The State Minister added that the repairs are expected to yield significant benefits for both communities and adjoining areas. Regarding the cost of the work, Mr. Azan said he was unable to give a specific figure, as the initial estimate had to be revised in light of additional damage that was sustained during the Hurricane’s passage. In the meantime, the State Minister noted that ongoing maintenance of the gullies across the island is critical in ensuring that the structures are safe. “It is something that we have to put (forward), as part of overall plan to maintain the gullies, not only the big ones but the small drains as well,” he added. For his part, Corporate Communications Manager, National Works Agency (NWA), Stephen Shaw, said the work is critical “as the bridge which spans the gully along Rousseau Road is in danger of collapsing, as the inverts under the bridge have been significantly eroded.”last_img read more
